Background
I graduated in medicine at the University of Pisa in 2009. I then did my residency at the Cisanello Hospital in Pisa in the Adult Cardiac Surgery Department. In 2010, I started my career as a cardiac surgeon at the Heart Hospital of Massa in the Adult Cardiac Surgery Department, under the direction of Dr. Mattia Glauber and began my experience in minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
I collaborated in the establishment of the transcatheter valve implantation program at my Institute and focused my practice and research on coronary surgery and minimally invasive valve with particular interest on sutureless and rapid deployment valve implantation. At the same time, I completed at the University of Pisa my PhD in Clinical Pathophysiology and Drug Sciences - section: Pathophysiology and Clinical Pathology of the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Apparatus, with a project entitled "Technological innovations in the treatment of patients with valvular disease at high surgical risk".
From April 2014 to the present, under the direction of Dr. Marco Solinas, I have improved my experience and I have achieved surgical autonomy in minimally invasive cardiac procedures and since July 2018 have dedicated myself to endoscopic valve surgery, both mitro-tricuspid and aortic.
Now the endoscopic approach is my first choice in most of patients with heart valve disease.
